"Simply present your player's card from other casinos and instantly receive the status at the Siena that is comparable to what you have earned from other casinos."

I had to try this one to see what the catch is, but found there is no catch. My Peppermill platinum card converted to double diamond status at the Siena. Double diamond is their highest level. They also added a complimentary 10,000 points to my account, which amounts to $100 in comps. Comps are earned at the rate of one cent for each dollar spent on the property for gaming, spa treatments, restaurants, gift shop and hotel accommodations.

Siena used to have some of the worst video poker pay tables of all the major casinos. That seems to have been fixed. Although pay tables are not quite as good as the Peppermill, Atlantis and the tri properties, VP is now an option at Siena.

I didn't notice an overabundance of new slots, but many of the popular old favorites are there and seem to be paying well.

The drink service was almost nonexistent. I was there for about an hour and a half and wasn't approached by a cocktail waitress until I was getting up to leave. Had Jerry, the babe magnet been with me, we would have been surrounded by waitresses on our way into the casino.

Even though it's considerably farther than the Peppermill from my house, I'll probably be spending some time there. They really want (and need) our business.

So when you were there, did you tell them the pics on their website suck?

I keep trying to get you some more business:

http://visitreno.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1529&highlight=siena

I wonder if they'll give me double double diamond status based on my OLD SIENA card?

Check Siena's website pics...when you click on "Casino", "Dining", "Spa", or "Entertainment"....

it takes you to a random photo that rotates among six or so possible pics. But very FEW of them have any customers in the pic !!

Kinda like the real thing?

And do you have anything to do with the Oyster Fest in VC on St. Pat's Day?

John, John, John. I can't believe you fell for that old scam. Your cards are now synced. If you don't play enough at the Siena you'll not only be downgraded there but at the Peppermill too.

OK, I made that up. I guess I better confess since I might make 'em mad over at the Siena. (Don't want those two guys bangin' on my door again.)

Oh man, did I get suckered into that one. And it gets worse. Not only is my Peppermill card synched into the deal, but so is my master card. I better get to the Siena and start playing so I don't get my credit limit downgraded to only $50,000.

And speaking of the Siena, there's no better way to get JD riled up than mentioning the "S" word. You're right about the web site pictures, JD. They are controlled by javascript to display random photos. And you're right about the absence of customers. That may have something to do with the need for model releases from identifiable people in promotional photos. One would think they could have called Macy's and rented some mannequins, which probably would have been livelier than the customers when I was there.

I'd love to take a screen shot from their website and paste all our smokin' Avatars into it. That would add a crowd. But they'd probably get mad about that too. Alison's would look good on a blackjack table...no?

Yes, indeed - Alison's pic ON the blackjack table, not in one of the player's seats - the mannequins can continue playing as though nothing at all has happened...

You may see quite a few guys at your doorstep if you post *those* pics (either Siena goons, or dudes wanting to know Alison's phone number), but you're still right, that it would be better than what's on there now.

John, you should designate JD to be the new Siena Mascot - his job will be to go play at the tables, eat at the restaurants, sit at the bars, all the while surrounded by his crew from Virginia City, and to take tons of photos with which to replace the current "No Customers"-themed pics.

Fair enough all around?
