Hey everyone, I haven't posted in quite awhile. But I just wanted to start a thread about March Madness in Reno for this year, since we are only 63 short days away!! Are there anyone else on here going to Reno for it this year? Share some of your plans, past stories. I am so pumped already. Has anyone heard of anything special going on for it this year?? We'll be there. It will make 10 years in a row. Made reservations at Harrah's last month. Be there 3/14 to 3/17. We'll divide our time watching the games between Cal Neva and Harrah's. Last year we spent Thurs. at the Peppermill, but it was way too crowded, no seats close to the T.V.s, so we're heading back to downtown this year. |

Nice! I can't wait, we just booked 4 nights at the Eldorado. We usually stay at the CalNeva but we got a really good deal at Eldorado and there rooms are nicer. We will still spend most of our time at the CalNeva for the games. We checked out the Pep last year on the thursday morning and we were not too impressed. This will be our 5th year in a row! |

I'm ready too! Just rebooked my reservation at Harrah's because of a price drop. Not sure what is going on, but this year Harrah's rooms are really cheap. I got Wed and Thurs for $29, and Friday for $39. It is their "stay 3 nights and save 35%" promotion (code P30 on their website) We like Harrahs because their sportsbook is fairly bettor friendly and it's a quick walk to C.N. |

I strayed away from VR's message board and found something interesting under "Special events" El Dorado is having a Mach Madness event and an "all day casino drink badge" is $25. I could probably drink my money's worth, but would be in bad shape the next day.

Just found this in the "Special Events" section of VisitReno
Hoop hysteria is building at Silver Legacy Resort Casino as NCAA
Tournament time draws near. “The Zone” at the Legacy Sports Book is Reno’s March Mania Headquarters, with giant screen viewing, great food and drink specials and, of course the free $100,000 Ultimate Bracket Challenge.
The Mania begins Wednesday, March 14 with a Bracket Buster Party from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Zone, Reno’s only indoor stadium experience, which will be packed with partiers enjoying $2.50 draft beer specials and Blue Moon on draft for $3.50 during the live game. Enjoy the “Slam Dunk,” a shot of Cinnamon Fireball or Jamison’s Irish Whiskey with your choice of any 12 ounce draft beer or the “Three Pointer,” Gera Premium Vodka and Red Bull for $6. Enjoy delicious stadium food, giant screening and the Coors Light Girls! Kick off tournament time the right way at Silver Legacy’s Bracket Buster Party! And you can also stop by Rum Bullions Island Bar for a Party Game Mug for only $9.50 with your choice of Draft Bud Light, Shock Top or our House Margarita with $2 refills during all live games! |

Nice find Mike! I am so pumped only 9 days until Selection Sunday! This year we are going down on Wednesday so we will definitely have to hit up the Legacy that day it sounds pretty fun. I am also really excited for the $25 drink badges at the Eldorado, we will be taking full advantage of that! |

Heading down on the 14th. Can't wait. We will be staying at the Eldorado and hope to watch games at both the Cal Neva and Eldorado as well. March Madness in Reno is a tough one to beat!
Does anyone know if the Grand Sierra or the Peppermill do anything special for March Madness? So much looking forward to it! |

Glad your also making the trip Dave. I found this on the Pep's website
"Catch all the college basketball excitement March 15-16, 2012 for FREE at Peppermill's Hoops Hysteria Party in the Naples Ballroom. We have three 10' screens and dozens of 65" screens for viewing, which makes every seat the best in the house!
Place your bets at convenient betting stations and enjoy gametime munchies at our Sports Deli. Doors open at 9am both days."
We spent Thursday there last years and had fun, but really like being downtown, so we're back at Cal Neva/Harrahs this year |
