I left early 5A and got to the airport by 5:20 and my flight left around 7A it was wheels up to MDW. Then on to POR & RNO little did I know that POR was first then RNO. It looked like they were going to need somebody to be bumped in POR $400 SW & dinner but no luck. The plane had to have 10,000 lbs of fuel off loaded before taking off. So we were late in getting to RNO. After getting luggage it was off to Harrah's( $45 and used Harrah's $) for a one nite stay in the East Tower try to get the West Tower. I had lunch at the CA Neva and just visited the downtown casinos and made donations. I had dinner at the CA Neva and played at Harrah's and went to bed.
Next AM it was off to the Quality Inn (free room) on VA Street and they were quite nice the room was a very nice size but the bathroom was on the small side. Would I stay here again for the right price I would. I then walked over to the PEP and played some there about $20 and won $30 so I cashed out. Then back to the QI for a nap before dinner at the CA Neva and stayed downtown for awhile then back to the room and watched TV and got Lily on the phone and set up lunch at the CA Neva with she and Vance on Sunday. I met them at the CA Neva at about 1P and the lunch was quite good, Lily and Vance treated me to lunch with some of their comps. Which was a nice thing to do and was greatly appreciated by me.
Now it was off to the CC more later. |

Cool...Ya got to meet Lily & the Dog. Dog has one of the coolest jobs EVER!
Was Lily tipping with her dueces? I was kinda wishing you guys went up to the Cal Neva Skyway bar to check who the bartender remembers the MOST.
A couple questions: Where did your flight start (Chicago, Midway?) and what is POR? Portland is PDX...did you stop here?
Thanks for the report, but I missed the part that had your BIG WINS !! |

My flight was 2 legs and the second was MDW ( Chicago) and I did go to PDX not POR. There were no big wins but there were no big losses either. |

Heck, if I'd realized you'd eaten every meal in Reno at the Cal-Neva since you'd arrived, we would have gone to Harrah's!!
I still want the rest of the details of HAN and your time in Reno! |

Thanks for the trip report, VAPA! I just stayed in the Harrah's East tower for 8 nights with my dog. I definitely prefer the West tower, but free is free, so no complaints here!
One of these days I'm definitely going to have to try the restaurants at the Cal Neva. Seems like that's one of the few things I haven't done downtown yet. |

Cheap "specials" eats at Top Deck.
Prime Rib is like $ 7 and has enough scraps for your dog. Just keep the horseradish off the leftovers. But before you go in, get a drink at the Sky way bar, then wander off .... much cheaper than buying one at the restaurant. |

The CA Neva was great for me and do enjoy Harrah's. More of the trip will be coming soon. |
