Here's a site with plenty of entertaining reading: http://ripoffreport.com
The one that really caught my eye was THIS , about an alleged birthday offer by the Atlantis, which was allegedly not honored.
This is exactly the sort of thing that never affects my incredibly low-roller gambling budget, but other users here may have a lot of experience with such things...
Or has this all been dissected by our honorable board already, and I'm just late to the party? Wouldn't be the first time...

The Atlantis has ALWAYS been ambiguous and foggy about their entire club point system.
ME: "Do I have enough comp points for dinner?"
THEM: "Which restaurant?"
ME: "I don't know...Tucan Charlies?"
THEM: "What did you want to order?"
ME: "WHY?? DO YOU HAVE A MENU? FORGET IT !!"
Which makes me smile when I hit them for $ 1000 last visit when I just went in to keep my card active. |

Take a look at this incredibly gratuitous and possibly slanderous entry, supposedly directed at the El Dorado, although the charges seem to be a more a guilt-by-association attempt than anything substantial...
"A Blighted Ghost-town and State
AUTHOR: Jr - (United States of America)

Reno and Nevada already have a bad reputation in the national media; a talk with home insurers confirms people and businesses are fleeing Reno and Nevada. These shocking behaviors by Reno businesses and Nevada public employees give a further black-eye to Reno and Nevada which are increasingly becoming and known as A Blighted Ghost-town and State. Reno's Eldorado Hotel and Casino is just like the rest of Reno now; notorious for years for their bait-and-switch, extortion, blackmail, civil rights violations, fraud, income tax evasion, money laundering, abuses, perjury, and false documents, and yet have never been held acountable for their illegal and unethical behaviors due to corruption - they pay bribes to public employees. Like those at the Nevada AG and Washoe County DA."
Sounds like someone lost a good chunk of money at the tables, or something! |

I knew they had 6:5 Blackjack but I was unaware that they had transgressed so much further into the dark side.
Seriously Stan, that is slanderous. I was unable to find that "report", but I'd consider sending a link to the Eldorado. They might want get that kind of junk removed. |

The fact that it's so incredibly indirect - "...El Dorado hotel and casino is just like the rest of Reno..." - that even if I were in charge of Eldo's PR, I'd be tempted to let it sit. The person who posted this is clearly not playing with a full deck!
If you'd like to see the original, just use the "Advanced Search", and filter to "Reno" - pretty amusing stuff! |
