The best or worst thing was two separate Cal Neva Xmas card mailers. Yes two different designed cards that seem to be a marketing error since most other casinos send out an email electronic holiday card to save paper and postage.
Wow JD! How did you get the $250 freeplay from Siena? Are you a heavy player there? I'm considering focusing a lot of my play at Siena as we love the rooms there and my wife's favorite slot is there. Unfortunately, we're just one diamond there and I've never seen a host other than the people at the player's club (had we used the same card we would have met the two diamond level). The Siena website doesn't even have contact info for a host there.
Here's our offer for January
Siena (My wife and I got the same offers so it's 2x and we got our mailer a week before xmas)
-$10 off any restaurant (standard from what I've heard)
-2 Comp nights available anytime (they often blackout weekends though I just stayed there on a Sat & Sun)
-$25 freeplay (up from $5)
Offer from Cal Neva
-$19 freeplay per week (down from $24)
-comp rooms anytime (though they also blackout weekends if you wait till the last minute)
Eldo
-one comp night (sun-thurs) down from 2 comp rooms anytime
-bunch of other useless stuff on the website
Sands (my wife's offers though she just played there only once at it was for only 30 min of slots)
-$5 freeplay
-BOGO rooms
I am not a big player so my offers probably eat d*ck when compared with others. |

I USED to be a rated player when Barney Ng owned the Siena. But I haven't given them much action since they changed hands.
My $ 250 free play came in when they asked me to open a line of credit.
I sent them my credit history from the old Comstock, my bank statements, and credit scores.
I also sent them copies of my W-2 Gs (from them and other casinos) showing a couple of good sized wins. |

Jeez, those all seem legit! Since I obtained local status, on my end, it seems like all the room offers went away, but were replaced with very generous amounts of free play, discounts, and food comps. Here's what I don't understand: last month, my free rooms and free play kicked back in at the GSR (not that I'd bother, mind you!) Why did they all of a sudden situate it where instead of having it all available at once, they're now splitting it up into increments of $5-$15 per day? I guess it's just a lure to make people come back every day. Yeah, like I'm gonna hike over there every day for two free spins? Weird! But doing just fine with the others.
Did anyone happen to get two separate mailers from the Eldorado? I think one might be the locals one, but they're pretty much identical. Also, the Eldo is now giving away a free buffet every Wednesday for Gold Plus locals (and one per trip for out of towners), Tuesday and Friday for pPremier, and every day for Presidents. I think they just started it last month and it's been staying pretty packed since then. No mailer necessary.
I've also found hidden offers - things showing up in your online account but not in your mailers. Harrah's Reno and the Silver Legacy in particular, so it never hurts to check your accounts online.

At the risk of being called "sad and lonely" I dredge up this old thread because again my mail box (e AND snail) is beginning to fill with offers of FREE and ALMOST FREE rooms, drinks and nights of fun with Keno runners.
OK...NOT that last part... well, recently anyway.
So my LAST trip, I hit the Siena fairly hard and I've been waiting for the e mail I got TODAY !!!
" J D you're a VIP for Reno's Summer Event at the Siena " Wooo HOOO !
Let's read the fine print: (the view as web page does not work)
"YOUR SPECIAL EVENT HEADQUARTERS"
"RENO ON THE RIVER"
"ALL SUMMER LONG...."
Nice Graphics follow with all the big events... Balloon Races, Hot August Nights, Street Vibrations, Golf Tournaments, River Events...
scroll, scroll, scroll...... (where is the FREE PART?)....scroll, scroll...
( ................................save10%fromregpricewhenbookedbyApril22......)
WHAT? let me check a date. Aug 10,11 (HAN) $ 188 plus tax ???
Now THAT'S SAD. And the special price $ 8 hamburger with the $ 3 glass of water ..... will be .....
Lonely too.
But at least I don't BOWL ! |
