Happy New Year to everybody and wish you and yours a great New Year. This board certainly keeps me updated on Reno and the people here. This spring may be a trip here rather than a city to the south. But there will be annual trip. Take care

I should also like to go on record wishing everyone a happy new year, and reaffirming the presence of our cherished board as another calendar annum is put to bed.

And while it's tempting to express hopes that the coming year will bring forth the long-sought improvements in just about everything we've all been waiting for, it's worth keeping in mind that pinning those hopes to a change in calendar position is no less capricious and arbitrary than placing a bet on red at the roulette table.

Nevertheless, happy new year! May 2013 be the best yet!

Happy New Years everyone! May 2013 bring all the jackpots to fill a drawer filled with W-2Gs.

I'm new on the board but I really enjoy this forum. I hope 2013 brings more visits, trip reports and news!

Thanks Stan, for echoing the well wishers despite your epistemological reservations. However since this is a board where gamblers congregate your point may fall on indifferent ears. Or are you saying we should bet on black? Is that a lock? (quoting Kramer).

That was indeed a brazen bit of balderdash and bombast with a hint of braggadocio, wasn't it?

I suppose I was trying to make a statement about the arbitrary nature of time, using the casino table as a comparative device.

What I really should have said was a simple: "HAPPY &*%$ NEW YEAR, MAY 2013 BE THE BEST EVER ON AND OFF THE TABLES, AND LONG MAY SHE WAVE!!!"

I submit the revised statement in place of the previous submission, which I thusly withdraw.

Oh, and dfens, you're practically a platinum/Double-Gold/Suckeronium level on our board, at least, for your beautifully-detailed chronicles of your sordid bacchanaliae - it's what we thrive on! I guess that makes us vampires of some literary sort...anyway, keep 'em coming!
