I found a site that will book you a room at Fitzgeralds. I will admit that I was a little bored, so I clicked on an advertising banner on the main page of Visit Reno. Up came Hotel.net

It looks like they can book you a room at the Fitz, but if they are fully booked, you can try to get a room at the Golden Phoenix or the Showboat as these hotels are listed also.

Note to Mammoth Gambler- The rates are dirt cheap. Room rates start at $0.00.

How could I forget the Golden Phoenix?? I walked down 9 flights, at 2 am
and ended up in the alley, cause some dumb kid pulled the fire alarm box. Bad trip. Hope they have better luck with their condos?

Good choice Dave. According to that site you will only be 350 meters away from the Riverboat.

Speaking of the Fitz, I noticed the Vegas version has also been de-Fitzed; it's now some generic other hotel. I thought the Vegas one would be allowed to stick around, but I guess the whole chain finally lost its lucky charms.

There's a Fitz in Blackhawk Colorado. They still feature the familiar Fitzgerald's insignia. There's also one in Tunica Mississippi. They've changes their look though (and the place kinda looks like a maximum security prison).
