I feel so dirty asking this, but with us being in Reno on May 12, my beautiful bride will miss the Survivor finale.
Does anybody know of any viewing parties in the area? I assume there wouldn't be anything in casinos, but what about restaurants or bars in the area? |

You may have to get one rolling...approach one of the bars on the Cal-Neva upper decks, and they're sure to take up any absurd excuse to have a promotion - some sort of drinking game based on the Survivor show; perhaps a drink everytime there's a head-to-toe shot of a woman in a bikini, or something...clearly, I'm not qualified to think up the rules, as I get my bikini-watching quota on other sites, er, I mean, shows. |

I agree with stan_allen; you can always do something fun by starting something on your own! A few seasons back in Mammoth, my friends did just that, only for the premier/opener vs. finale. The bar, only 50 paces across the road, was more than happy to accommodate everyone, they even roped off an area of the bar that had a 52" flat panel and several large sofas. You just never know. Give Shooters a holler - something tells me it would be very comical there...

Right, my wife (who is afraid of her shadow) at Shooters. Good one
We will be arriving Sunday around 2:30, and the first order of business will be to collect the bowling balls from the Grand Sierra. No time to organize anything (and no energy to try via remote control, either). That's why I was looking for a ready-made party.
I will wait until during next week. My guess is that the various Stupidvivor forums might have people posting parties, and if any bars/clubs have any they might post an advert on line, too. |

Yeah, we're pretty clearly not tuned in to the finer frequencies of "Survivor"-oriented gatherings.
No, organizing is probably beyond the pale for this time; it seems like you've get plenty enough to do without adding "Event Planner" to your list.
Now, concentrate on "FUN IN RENO" - the "Survivor" finale pales in comparison... |

Yes, enjoy your time here for sure! My only other thought would be to find someone with a TiVo or DVR to record it while you're gone, or perhaps find a bar or hotel that's got multiple channels running on both coasts in different time zones? Not so much a party, but better than nothing!

Is that show still going? I remember watching in back in the year 2000. If it is on TV, leave the wife up in the room to watch and you head down to the casino to have a great time. Everyone's happy! |

CBS.com shows the latest episodes the day after they air. I use it to watch the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson in the mornings. |
