The old Silver Club in Sparks is getting a makeover.
From RGJ:
"The signs for the former Silver Club location are coming down, the themed drinks are being finalized and the almost 300 new gaming machines are being polished."
Invitations have been sent to former customers of the Silver Club, which closed four years ago, and to new clientele in hopes of bringing back life to the darken corner of Victorian Square ahead of Sparks’ major special events, including Hot August Nights and the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-off.
“We have had some touching people, in terms of following our progress, wanting to be the first players,” said Nancy Darcy, chief operating officer of Northern Star Casinos.

Sounds a lot more promising than another rock climbing wall. Here's to 'em - Good Luck! I liked the Silver Club and I think I was there when it was Karl's too. |

I signed up and played there and won some. Not enough for a W2, but it was fun seemed that the machines were somewhat loose. |

It was going to be called "Bourbon Street Casino" until, at the last minute, ownership decided that "Bourbon Street" was too common and "Bourbon Square" would be more unique and consistent with the Victorian Square location. But the letters for the signs were already ordered. So now, at least for the time being, the signs on the outside facades announce that the place is officially the "Bourbon Casino." |

I actually finally got a chance to check it out the other day. A bit on the smaller side, I believe seeing somewhere that the upstairs levels are convention space/offices perhaps. There is a buffet that looks pretty moderately priced. And, I saw 6 Blazing Sevens machines! Joined the players club (unfortunately they didn't appear to have any new member free play offers, but I did see an offer similar to the Siena, where you can show a player's club card from another casino and get bumped up to that level, so might investigate that next time.
Looks like it might be a good secondary place to play on those Nugget visits.
