35 days and counting until I am back in town!!!
Oct 17-21
Looking forward to it as always.
Bringing a friend of mine who has never been this far west so we will be seeing some sights.
Got a package deal from USAir for $575 per person for flight and room at Silver Legacy for 4 nights.
Get in town Thursday at a decent time (noon) so we should be ready to go.
Renting a car on Friday to drive around Lake Tahoe (well from Mt Rose highway through south shore to Emerald Bay around to Kings Beach) anyway. Driving back through Truckee.
Saturday and Sunday will be all about football.
Will keep you posted... |

Sounds like a plan. This circular Tahoe route of which you speak - I guess it's clockwise, meaning you'll miss the opportunity to stop in at Crystal Bay and see the Biltmore, and whatever remains of the Tahoe "Cal-Neva"?
But of course, you can then go back to Reno for the REAL Cal-Neva! And Silver Legacy will offer decent views and nice big gaming floors that are reasonably well-ventilated and all.
The 'Leg remains a decent property in my opinion, but only Cal-Neva continues to offer three-dollar Blackjack, at least in the downtown....maybe some of those funky outlying casinos have 3-dollar tables? Englightenment, anyone? |

I thought about going back on Mt Rose highway so we could hit a few of those places stan but I am more about seeing the lake from a few places instead of hitting the casinos on the north side. If I did stop somewhere it would be the Hyatt in Incline. The Lone Eagle Grille is pretty cool!
Definitely walking down to Cal Neva in Reno as well as Siena (still open?). |
