The version I heard was when I 80 was being built, they could not use any of the railroad property to the South and tried to condemn a part of the JA Nugget property forgetting the political clout the Ascuaga family enjoyed. I'll bet someone can find & post a photo.

So at great taxpayer expense, they built the freeway OVER the main casino floor and several of the viaduct supports can now be seen INSIDE Trader Dick's fish tank. How they sealed it on the bottom is beyond me but I'll bet it's a great story.
There are also supports inside the main casino floor which are disguised with square mirrors to mimic the other supports that merely hold up the roof. Once in a while when it's slow and quiet (if bikers aren't shooting each other), you can feel an exceptionally heavy load go overhead.
Now who remembers the solid gold rooster that used to be near the old hotel front desk and how the feds tried to seize it and why? |

He is 206.3 troy oz. of 18 ca. gold. He would make some
fantastic Gold coins. Which I would love to own one! Hint? |

I found an article on a blog that claims to be from a flyer found in the Nugget. Look here.
As for the value of the fowl, click me. |
