I was just setting at the computer watching the Virginia Street webcam,
and was wondering what the response to a vote for a Pedestrian over
pass crossing over the street from Harrah's to the Eldorado complete
with escalators like they have in Sin City?? John?

I'm not sure about that one. I was in town this afternoon taking photos of Siris and The Heritage Restaurant for BCDave (that's another post). For a Saturday afternoon, there was a dismal amount of foot traffic on Virginia Street - not nearly enough to justify an overpass, especially at that location. A structure like that would block the view of the world famous Reno Arch.

There were a few people dining at the Heritage, which seemed OK considering the number of people on the street. Cal Neva had a fair crowd, but I didn't wander into any other properties.

On the up side, the streets will be packed on September 24 - 28 this year.

The reason I brought this up is, twice I've almost got rundown by
people in a big hurry making left turns off Virginia st. when I was
already in the middle of the street. The last one left sidewall marks
on the toes of my shoes.
