The wife and I are coming to Reno in July. It has been 2 years since our last visit. When I check hotel prices I found Harrah's has me comped for most any day in July (actually any day and month). I find this odd as we really never gave Harrah's much play. I am assuming that anyone wanting to stay at Harrah's can get a free room. Am I wrong? Also any word on the rooms and the hotel in general? Thanks. |

If you have a choice, I would stay in the west tower, It's a walk to the east tower, unless you are bring a 4 legged friend with you. If you have a choice Harrah's Tahoe has much nicer rooms, dual bathrooms and a view of the lake. Are you a Keno Fan? |

Thank you for your reply spdmrcht. We did get a west tower room. We do play some keno, we sit in the parlor for a couple hours taking a break from the casino floor. |

If your there on July 24-25th they have a Keno tourn. 500$ entry buy in
gets you 500 in chips, free rooms, keep what you win, and $10'000 first
place and pay down to 10th. They have a 4spot catchall ticket that pays
$580 so all you have to do is hit it once and you got your entry back. |

I don't think that they give anyone a free room, but if you have a history of play with Harrah's - at any property, there is a good chance you can get a free room. I have never played at the Reno Harrah's, but due to some play at Harvey's and Harrah's Lake Tahoe I seem to have free rooms available at the Reno property. I have also cashed in on free rooms at Harrah's Laughlin (twice)even though I have not played there in about 6 years. Last April I booked 5 nights at Laughlin for a buddy, while I stayed at a different property up the river. The rooms were free and again, I never gave them any play in the casino. |

Yes, CaSwede and spdmrcht's analyses are spot on. West tower is the way to go if you can swing it. It seems like if you have a Total Rewards card, the free rooms will keep coming, whatever tier level you're on. I just recently discovered that during my absence from Reno, I got bumped all the way back down to the lowly Gold level but I'm still getting $80 in free play every month and it's still giving the option to book up to 3 free nights in Reno, and 5 in Vegas. As I'm sure everyone has noticed, Harrah's is going through a lot of changes, suddenly charging high room prices and mandatory resort fees, so jump on the free offers while you can!

Don't think they have a convention center, but there is one that most
of the casinos use, its north across the street from the Bowling joint.
what is the show and I'll see where its at. Harrahs has only a small
show room on site, called Sammys Show Room. |

Well I think Harrah's is doing a slide of hand a little bit? They don't
have an Actual Convention center They are giving the address
of 219 N. center st. which is the Casino. I think the Show is at 400
N. center st. in the Reno event center, which all the casinos use
for the bigger shows together. It is about 2 blocks N. of the casino.
Maybe John or some one can confirm this? |

I called Harrah's and talked to a very nice and helpful young lady about the location of the concert. Seems she is in Las Vegas and took a while to find out they are playing in the acutal Harrah's building at 219 N Center Street, which is the address given when you go to buy tickets on Harrah's website.
Enjoy the show and the rest of your Reno trip. Win loads of money and send it to me. |

Now that fills in a void in my brain. I remember seeing the escalator
at the south end of the casino by the old Keno lounge, never knew where
it went. It was never running when I was there? That must be the place?
Thanks John. |
