Wondering if anyone knows of any casino happenings or anything in the downtown area the week of October 30th, we haven't been able to find much. Thanks to any that can help! |

Halloween is a great time to visit Reno (with or without the dot com).
Most of the casinos have some kind of costume contest which is sometimes paired with a slot tournament. Locals go WAAAY out to hit the highest prize money awarded for costumes. As I recall, the Atlantis has a big money prize for several categories of costumes.
The wildest Halloween parties at the casinos are on the weekends but are well advertised in Best Bets.
On Oct 31, "Nevada Days" (kind of a 4th of July for the state) is celebrated in Carson City and Virginia City. The accepted costume for this event is 1862 finest duds as this is the date Nevada was admitted to the Union. "Battle Born" , Nevada is the only state admitted during the civil war. |

The Peppermill and (formerly) Hilton usually have prizes for the sexiest or skimpiest costume. That alone makes it worthwhile to dress up like a dork and venture out into the night. |
