|
|
I used to be a VP fan until the Pep had their themed slot promotion where they sent me $25 a week for two months to play the themed slot machines. Well, the place was so full, I could find only one machine of interest, which is Pharoah's Fortune. 15 lines, 1 to 20 coins, and the coolest bonus round in town.
When you enter the bonus round by hitting 3 pharoahs on any pay line, you're confronted with a wall of 30 bricks before the actual free spins start. It starts you off with 3 free spins with a multiplier of one. Behind each brick is an additional spin (22 of them), a +1 multiplier (5 of them) or a begin free spins (3 of them). You keep punching bricks and collecting free spins or multipliers until you hit a "begin free spins" (spoiler), then the spins begin. It's within the realm of possibility to get 25 spins with a multiplier of 6.
Yesterday was my best bonus round ever. 21 spins with a multiplier of 5. During the bonus spins, I got 3 pharoahs twice. What that means is the bonus round is re-triggered, resulting in a number of extra spins equal to your original number. 62 total spins times a 5X multiplier = $540. I was playing 15 lines at ten cents a line. Of course, the bonus varies depending on the wins for each spin. Each spin is a guaranteed win, but it's small.
Bonus rounds come fairly frequently, occasionally back-to-back, but don't count on that. Several times I picked the spoiler on the first try for 3 free spins with a 1X multiplier. This normally results in a bonus round of a few bucks. I think my average bonus is about 10 spins at 3X, my best being 24 at 6X, for a win of about $260, and 20 at 5X with the first spin retriggering the bonus for 20 more spins for a win of $540.
In the month or so I've been playing it, I'm $1400 ahead. $100 investment each session, longest winning streak - 4, longest losing streak - 5. Winning sessions average $250, losing sessions are limited to $100.
The thing that I like about this machine is its consistency. Most others I've tried let me win a few times at first, then slapped the crap out of me for the rest of my life (Kenny Rogers, Shake Your Booty and Larry's Lobster Mania in particular).
Without looking too hard, I found 10 of them at the Peppermill, 2 at the Eldorado, 2 at Atlantis and 1 at Harrah's. Since I don't play much anywhere else (seldom at Harrah's, just when I'm playing on Alison's card), I don't know who else has them.
Anyone out there think we should add a "Favorite machine" forum where we can all babble on endlessly like I just did?
John

John,
Thanks for the report on the slot machine! Glad to hear that you did very well. Is that machine only found at the Pep? It sounds like a lot of fun!
Is it a dime, quarter, etc. machine?
Good luck and keep on winning! |

Peb,
In my wanderings, I've seen them at Atlantis, Harrah's and Eldorado, but the Pep's machines seem to have more frequent bonus rounds at times. To be fair, I haven't played them too much at the other casinos.
They're multi denomination for 1, 2, 5 and 10 cents.

I've played that machine a few times and had good luck once, and a few other times haven't hit squat diddley.
I love the machines that have bonus rounds with free spins. My fave is Cleopatra. Same thing can happen that you get bonus rounds, within the bonus round...you gotta love that. I also love the Geisha machines too.

I have to admit that I had little time for the Slots........till the new generation of games. The dang things and their Bonus Rounds are heck of a lot of fun. Now as to my favorite machine, that is simple. The one that doesn't grab and shake the hell out me and suck every frigging dollar out of my skinny wallet.
Heck, I would play a gas pump or a gumball machine and call it may favorite
if I could leave the dang thing with any money.
Yo Man over and out......................... |

John,
I love that machine!! there was one over by the Romanza, that i played forever. I think i won $700.00 on it. It kept paying and paying. One bonus round i got in and picked all the squares that i was able to, before having to go to the bonus round. Could not believe it. Everyone was pretty annoyed with my luck that day. It did not stay arounf though unfortunately.
Peb- Most of those machines at the Pep let you select either .01, .02 .03 .05 and .10

alison,
Thanks.....thats good to know I will look for that machine at the Fitz or at Harrah's (won't step foot in the Eldorado casino except as a way to get to the Brew Bros.).
My fav machine has been the Wheel Of Fortune, 25 cent & $1 but did find a fun new one at the Fitz last April, tho I can't remember the name of it. |

Hey, John, a favorite machine thread sounds like an entertaining idea. Informative. Word of mouth, etc.
In fact, because of you, I have now played Pharaoh a few times.
Recently, I played at an Indian (dirty word) casino in CA and hit for $100 on the bonus. AND, I play for far lower stakes. |

I'm a new poster, but I just had to jump in and share my favorite machine. It's silly, I know, call me a nerd, but I LOVE "The Price is Right" penny slot. I guess it is because I won $300 last time I played it at Harrah's. I also like to play the Blazing 777 at the El Dorado that has the extra bonus wheel. Love the Avalanche and all the cool things it does! (Especially when it PAYS!) I will check out some of these other machines on this thread the next time I get over that way....Thanks for the info! Hi Stacey...another one I like is called Time for Money. 21 lines and an option to play two ways (left to right and right to left) for double your bet. 3 bonuses, two of which can pay pretty well. Lots of play for your money. I've played them at the Eldorado and Pep.

John,
Yeah those Pharoah's Fortune machines are fun. I won about $75 on one on my recent trip to LV, but played on several. (The only bad part is, I can't get that "Walk Like An Egyptiannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn" song it plays outta my head...almost 4 weeks later and it still is kicking...) There's another one called Pharoah's Gold that I believe has more multipliers but also costs about 3-4 dollars per spin if you're playing pennies.
Stacey,
I'm totally with ya on the Price is Right Machines...although I haven't seen any penny ones yet, only nickels...I'll have to look next time I'm there. They're all good, the Cliffhanger, Dice Game and Plinko are the only ones I've tried. FYI, there is a Flash casino (play for free) at hardrockcasino.com that has a free version of the 9 line 5 reel Plinko one if you're interested.
I'm all for the favorite machine thread getting started (if it hasn't already...still catching up!)

You know, those dang things are addicting! I keep saying I'll swear them off, and then one calls out to me, and i sit and pump money into them.
John-on the Pharoh's one, i get so nervous picking the squares, that I've taken to just placing my whole hand on the screen and letting "it" decide, dumb, I know, but at least I can blame the machines choice!
Did someone mention yet, they have one of these at Fitz? upstairs, near the bar on the right. |

My preference for picking squares is to just start blasting away, fast and randomly. I really doubt your method of picking has any effect on the outcome. You're either going to do well or not. |
