the wife and i are heading over the hill next month and staying at John Ascuaga's Nugget for one night and then heading over to Harvey's in South Lake
I was looking at the Silver club web site and seen that if you sign up for their players card that they give you a free buffet ... is it worth going over there for a free buffet?
Also I just wanted to know if anyone has seen the new Top Gun slot machine and if there are any in either reno or tahoe _________________ drive only as fast as your guardian angel can fly |

Hi Tracy,
I'ts funny you posted the question about Silver Club. We just came home from Reno a few hours ago . We also stayed at J.A. Nugget. We've stayed at the Nugget many times, but this was the first time we wondered across the street to the Silver Club. We signed up for their club card and received the free buffet. The buffet was pretty basic, some salads and 10 or so entree's like enchaladas, roasted and fried chicken, and some fish items. The one bright spot was the cooked to order New York steaks and chicken. All and all, it was worth the walk across tthe street. The casino itself was nice, a bit small, but the people were very friendly. Service was great. Drinks came fast and often, slot service was instant, and the machines paid well ! They had $3 single deck 21, and $2 craps with 3X odds.
I recommend walking over and taking a break from the crowds of the Nugget.
Have Fun !

Tracey,
They have 2 towers. The east tower is older and not as nice, we always stay in the west tower. The west tower is a liitle farther from the casino area, but worth the walk. both towers room decor is very 80ish with lots of pinks and purples. The rooms are fairly large. My only complaint is that they don't have coffee makers. When you go, be sure to sign up for their players card. We aren't very big gamblers, but usally earn enough points to cover our meals.
