I keep wondering this, but also keep forgetting to ask.

Anyone know off the top of their heads?

I've heard with tips about 45,000 to 50,000 per year in Reno average, better at some clubs a little worse at others. In Vegas, it is about double that.

So, since there's tips involved, it could be kind of like waitering, such that they can pay you even less than minimum wage?

That's a lot of responsibility, what with the counting, payoffs, rules, drunk patrons, and everything else!

From what I understand, in most casinos, dealers must pool their tips, which is completely unfair. It means the fun, friendly dealers get the same as the bitchy ones. We tend to tip more to the people we enjoy being around, but when we do, we tip everyone else on the shift. Years ago at the MGM (now GSR), I saw a female dealer take the offer of a $100 gift certificate in a fancy shop in the downstairs mall instead a $100 cash tip because she wouldn't have to share it.

When we were in Reno over HAN, I noticed in the classifieds that most "tip" positions were getting $6.88 an hour.
