That's really a switch. I'm still a personal fan of the "70's ghetto decor" but I guess it can't last forever yeah? They're saying that starting in 2008 they are going to re-decorate the tower rooms just like this too. I'll have to check it out when I get there, they sent me an offer where I can get one of those Tuscan rooms for $99. Still nothing free yet though!

Yeah it is weird to see. Early 2008 they are going to start the remodeling of the old tower. |

They're saying they will also be remodeling the Montego Bay wing so that answers my curiosity about whether they were keeping it.
And you're right, that's (part of) Biscotti's restaurant in the picture. Next to the restaurant is a smallish coffee bar so the people staying in the Tuscan tower don't have to go all the way to the main casino for coffee and a donut.
Fla-Mammoth - the rooms are changing but at least the casino will retain its feel. In an article in the paper this week about Pepp's new LED sign out front, a spokesperson said they plan to keep all the neon because that has become part of their identity.
I stopped in on my way home from work today and I don't think I've seen the Peppermill so busy in a long time, if ever. The casino was hopping at 5:00 p.m. and there was a lo-o-o-o-ng line of people waiting to check in. Everybody headed for the Tuscan tower after checing in, so I'm guessing they were all there for the grand opening. Much of the construction activity now seems to be focused on the new pool area, getting it ready for Spring. |

Thanks for the photo's Alison
Was hoping they would have the steam showers like the old suites did, but I do not see any controls by the shower door, so probably not |

Pics look just like my room.
And I answered above the shower question: no steam.
Biscotti's was lovely.
I took LOTS of pics but don't know how to get them on here.
Actually I did a long slide show for my bride since she couldn't come and I had to bring a "date" instead. |
