I was at the Peppermill yesterday and noticed that Saucy's BBQ place has opened. The bartender said it opened the day before (Tuesday).

The dining area is mostly open to the casino floor, separated only by a 4 ft. or so high partition. There is seating for about 24 people at the tables and another 12 along a counter built into the partition. Service is do it yourself, place your order at the window and carry it to your table. For some reason I had expected something a little more elegant, but casual is OK if the food is good. Prices are in the $9 - $10 range for sandwiches and $3 - $4 more for entrees, and you have your choice of 6 different sauces.

I didn't get a chance to eat there but I plan to fix that real soon. Everything looked and smelled real appetizing.

Thanks for letting us know!

You can view the menu online now. Looks yummy!

So i know that they put it in where the food court was. Does it take up that whole area, or did they add more gaming area?

They added more gaming area for slots. The dining area itself is fairly small.

i WOULD love to check it out soon. Perhaps I will.

The sauces sound interesting, at least 4 I'd like to try.
I dislike very much the North Carolina sauces. Too tomato-eey.
My preference is So Caro where it is mustard based.

The KC and Texas and Memphis sound interesting. One never knows until they try them.

Thanks for the heads up, Remano. It wasn't open yet when I was there last month but looked like it was almost complete. I'll have to check it out when I go back in a couple of weeks.

We ate there last night. I am not a gourmet food critic so don't expect a comprehensive review, but the one thing I can say is it was pretty darn good and we'll be back again (errr, is that two things?)

Anyway.... I noticed there is much more seating than I reported earlier. It is shaped like an "L" and I had earlier only noticed the seating next to the bottom of the "L" adjacent to the kitchen. I hadn't noticed the other tables and another long counter on the side.

They have a limited selection of beer and wine available, but no cocktails. There is a bar right nearby, however, so you can have whatever drink you desire.

You place your order and pay at one window, then go to the pickup window to get your food and carry it to your table. Service was very quick, only a couple minutes. Because the dining area is open to the casino there was a lot of background noise. This is not the place for an intimate special occasion dinner, but it is great for a quick, tasty meal.

We both had a pulled pork sandwich with curly fries ($8.95 each). I had the Memphis sauce, she had Kansas City. I thought the Memphis was better. Hers was more tomato-y and not as sharp. Mine was spicy but not too hot, but it was still good to have a cold beverage available to cleanse the pallet every two or three bites. If you're not sure what sauce you want they have samples you can taste before ordering. Portions were very generous, and we both agreed that next time a single sandwich split between us would be plenty. We also noted those getting the BBQ platters were carrying out large hunks of meat and sides.

Thanks for the report Remano, I'll give it a try for sure! I never met a pulled pork I didn't like...
