Yeh, I know what you're thinking, but I would reply with, "Why not?"
So I hereby appoint myself the Reno Olympics chairman - I will be communicating with the IOC to sell Reno as an Olympics destination - after all, look at all the great infrastructure - lots of hotels, good food - oh, yes, and there's sports facilities in the area, I'm sure - how about the University? They must have a track somewhere for the running/jumping/shotput/discus events, and such.
Both the marathon and the Triathalon could be held at the downtown/Truckee river area.
I will of course also be encouraging the IOC to consider new events in time for this terrific location choice; events such as Fat Tire pounding, Keno Lounge sponging, Vagrant Shuffling, and Peppermill construction-watching.
Just think of the thousands of jobs that will be created temporarily! |

Seriously, Stan, you're cute. And yes, I support the Renolympics as long as Charlie and Higgins are the official mascots. Instead of hosting paralympics, we could call it the parrotlympics. Oh, God, this is so exciting.
Jerry's in town right now, and since I'm having the last stage of my recent surgery completed tomorrow, I'm celebrating with a lobster dinner at the Peppermill Steakhouse tonight with Jerry and his wife, Becky, and another lobster dinner tomorrow night with Jerry, Becky and my ex-girlfriend, Pat. Seems I somehow built up over $1,000 in comps and need to use them up before the Peppermill steals them back. Maybe I'll comp a spa suite in the Tuscany tower and put my birds up for a couple of nights to give myself a little peace and quiet. |

Sorry guys I had to vote "Hell No!" because I'm worried that a few hundred thousand visitors might lessen my chances of getting a 12 dollar room at the Sands. |
