|
|
Well, today is my birthday; Sunday is my anniversary, so of course we're going up the hill.
We're not leaving until Saturday, and coming home Tuesday. Tomorrow I'll be going through all the flyers and coupons I've been storing up, pulling out the deals.
We'll start in Reno, using the Fitz birthday gift of $50 O'lucky bucks to fill the gas tank (they give you shell certificates at the players desk), and $25 for food, since it's early it'll have to be Molly's or the buffet, not thrilled with either, so will have to give them the once over before choosing. I think we're going to stiff them and not gamble, because we're on a mission, and have to get moving.
We have some cash waiting at Harrah's across the street, so will grab that $30 and stiff them too, as we'll play Harrah's in Tahoe later in the weekend.
Then-n-n-n we want to check out the remodel at Atlantis and play the $10 slot play they sent us. Since it's Saturday night on a holiday weekend, we're staying in Carson for $36. It's clean anyway, and they know our name when we walk in.
We bought tickets to the Frank Sinatra cover show (and dance) at the Nugget in Carson, while we were here with our friends a couple of weeks ago. So Saturday night should find us dancing, or laughing at the set up, and right out to the gambling.
Sunday and Monday we're staying at comped rooms at a Harvey's premium room overlooking the lake. Now while the room is nicer, we KNOW the playing conditions are tough, so we may play some to keep the comps coming, but head back to Reno to check out the Rib cook-off. Too bad we'll miss the "pig run" on Friday night, that's got to be a hoot!
We have another $65 in free slot play in Tahoe, and we're going to do the Mount bleu (spelling?) first timers free slot play too. Harrah's also sent me something new called Reel play, which is a coupon for slot play in the amount of $125, one for September and one for October, the September one is not good until check out day, the 2nd, so hopefully I can do a hit and run and actually take some money home.
Now I've laid it out, will we stick to any of this? you know how that goes, you make plans, and then the 3rd cold Sierra pale ale makes an appearance while you're on a machine you just KNOW is going to hit..... |

Well, your level of preparation is highly impressive! There's nothing quite like gambling with house money, and that's a nice list of comps and such.
Enjoy it, and make sure to provide a detailed trip report when you get back - I need some hints on obtaining such freebies!
I believe your spelling of Montbleu is correct, though from all that's been said about this establishment, I'd wager that the proper pronunciation is along the lines of, "Montbleh".
Oh, and Happy birthday! Happy anniversary! Both uniquely fun events, and what better place to commemorate them than our favorite city? (Man, I wish Mrs. Allen felt that way, but we can't have it all.) |

Wow- I am impressed with the details for the trip. I didn't see you budget in time for any bathroom breaks? Well, you will figure it out.
Are you going to see the fireworks at Lake Tahoe on Sunday? I will be there also Saturday and Sunday night. Hey, I like MontBleu --- I guess there is always one in a crowd.
Have a great time, and Happy/Happy on both big events. |

thanks for the well wishes guys, and John your singing voice is good, though it could have used a couple tweets or squawk's in the background?
My preparedness may be considered as a bit of an overkill to some (okay-most people) BUT I am willing to toss it all out the window for the BBD (bigger-better-deal), or that 3rd beer I was talking about.
CASwede, I did not know about the fireworks on Sunday, score! In fact we have never seen a firework display up there, not over the 4th or anything. Pretty crowded I'd imagine, I reserved a premium unobstructed lakeview room at Harvey's (comped from Patron) maybe we can see it from there? |

RenoLady- the Fireworks start at 8:30 PM, and you should have a good view. I will wave to you from my vantage point on the beach at the Edgewood Country Club. The fireworks are suppose to be co-ordinated with music. Turn a radio on to 93.9 FM or 1490 AM to get the full effect! . |

Well, Ali, since you didn't call me on your trip to Reno, I couldn't give you your birthday gift, so I mailed it to you. |

I sing to all my dates. In fact I was singing a love song earlier today to my "bride". Later she said "now, I'll have that song on my mind all day and I don't even like it".
So much for my warbling of love songs. |

OOOH, Ali, I just was perusing a couple of your recent pictures and found myself suddenly bursting into song. Glad I had my den door closed. |

John, indeed, your Royal flushes do smell like gym feet.
But, I didn't think that YOU had noticed. |

Just back a few hours ago! I was having a coffee and Bailey's in Harvey's at 9 AM this morning.
Good trip, some frustration with some of the comps, but its all good.
I'll write it up tomorrow. I've been sitting at this same seat for over 2 hours and no cocktail waitress! Oh yeah, this is work. |
