So we arive in town at 10 pm. Check in at Eldorado. Get a crappy room on the 4th floor of the old tower (hmm is giving a gold plus member a crappy room in a empty hotel a good idea). After driving 11 hour we were kinda hungry. Stopped by the 24hr coffee shop and was suprised to see it closed. No big deal we will go to Silver Legacy. Nope its closed too. Circus Circus nope closed. I realise the economy is bad but shouldnt you leave 1 coffee shop open on your property.
After watching so many of my favorite downtown casinos close in the last few years, walking by the Fitz was like a punch in the stomach. Soon their will be only be the big 4 downtown.
I wonder how well those pretty condos are selling. |

I hear ya.... I'm getting very disillusioned by Reno. Wife and I are contemplating just saving our money for Vegas instead of coming up to Reno twice a year .. just go to Vegas for a week and at least be able to spread the money around a little more _________________ drive only as fast as your guardian angel can fly |

Long after Reno has been reduced to a vacant lot, we will probably still be posting messages about our favorite vacant lot.
"I saw a squirrel on the lot today - 'course, everyone jumped on it, and fried it up...that's good eatin'! That's the most excitement we've seen on the lot in a while..." |

If you think Reno is getting bad, you won't like Las Vegas. This from a long-time Las Vegas resident who visits Reno ten to fifteen times a year.
Las Vegas is a great place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit. Horrible table games, ripoff prices on almost everything, rudeness and hostility commonplace among casino employees. No one cares about anything, least of all the patrons. Las Vegas is a sad shadow of its former self. Stay with Reno. For a change of pace, try Wendover or Biloxi.
