What will the biggest little city look like in 5 years? Will the Sands and Sienna still be open? Will you still be able to get a awful awful at 2am? Will the Kings Inn reopen and become the premier gambling destination on the west coast? Please post your thoughts about Reno's future as a gambling mecca. |

Just stepped out of my time machine. Yup in 5 years Reno is a buzzen again! The Mapes, Harold's Club, Nevada Club, and the Pioneer Inn are all back up and running. The condo's have reopened as their former casino selves. Look I even got a squeeze light at Harold's.

Cool Huh?
Oh wait a minute. The year selector nob on my time machine is loose. O.K. maybe I was back 20 years instead! |

The only prediction I feel confident in making is that the downtown will continue its fine tradition of seediness, there will be scruffy bums in plentiful supply, and I will still be complaining about this very situation on this very message board!
But I will also proclaim my love for it all, despite the seediness. |

There will be no casinos downtown because the MASSIVE demand for condos will have meant they all closed and are developed into loft style living. Basically downtown will look like Manhattan. |

I doubt there will be any more condos going up. If you look at them, you won't see any furniture or people. They're either going bankrupt or trying to rent them out as apartments. The condos may have been a good idea, but not to the extent it was carried. They should just let the homeless live in them so they'll at least serve a purpose. |

What if someone were to open a casino on the bottom floor and rent out rooms? |
