As you get in town from Lake Tahoe, you will find Casino Fangango on the left side. You will think you are in the Peppermill in Reno. Same neon type deal, nice decor, and seems to be very popular. Further in toward town you will find Carson Station. I like this place because they have lots of full pay pick'em poker. I have also found some very good VP at the Nugget right in the middle of town. They have an amazing bar with about 15 brews on tap. If you stop in town, there are a few local dives such as the Horseshoe and Cactus Jacks......interesting places. Sorry- I don't play BJ, so I can't help you on that. |

We've stopped in the Fandango after they first opened and it did remind me of Peppermill. CASwede, do you know if they have a hotel or have any plans to build one? |

No hotel at the Fandango, but they are building something in the back (parking garage?). I believe that have plans to put in a hotel, and I know they have the land to do it. |

The last time I was there, I dropped in at the Pinon Plaza and played a bit of Blackjack. It seemed okay (and there is a motel/hotel there). It seemed a bit quieter than the Fandango, and a touch more upscale than the Carson Station.
The Ormsby House still isn't finished (from what I can tell), but they are doing a major renovation there. Perhaps by next year it will be ready.

best blackjack around is in reno at the siena.. single deck double down on any two cards. they also have 3 dollar tables. _________________ Don't play blackjack that pays 6:5..Changing that one rule, reducing blackjack payouts from 3:2 to 6:5 adds a substantial 1.39% to the casino's advantage. |
