Hi all,
We are driving from Reno to Las Vegas in December. We were told to drive 95 but were wondering about Route 50 to Route 376. Is this advisable for the winter and are there any must see stops. Which is the more scenic drive. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks |

I have driven 95 about 4 times, kinda boring but i think is is the best way, Just a couple of weeks ago my cousin left vegas and went the other way he said never again. Just watch your speed in those little towns they like to write tickets.

Hi dedhd,
I did that drive last winter. Actually I didn't know there was any other way besides 95. Take Kevin's advice and watch your speed through the small towns you pass through (there's actually only a few). Also KEEP YOUR GAS TANK FULL even if it's not empty when you pass a gas station...there are only a couple, and you will hit a stretch where there's miles and miles of nothing. I had a narrow brush with danger that trip, I was running on fumes and the one country store I stopped at in the middle of nowhere no longer had gas...fortunately I made it to the next town, 42 miles down the road, don't know how I did it. But the 95 route was very scenic. Not sure about any stopoff points of interest though.
