I've seen the ads for a while now, "Reno's newest poker room .... at the Silver Legacy." I didn't check it out but today the RGJ provided the details. SL has electronic poker tables with no dealers, no chips, no cards - everything is in video. The game plays the same but the presentation just isn't there. I don't give it much chance of success. Players like to handle their chips, hold their cards and talk to the dealer. If you want video you'll play video poker. As the article mentions, this was tried at the Excalibur in Vegas and failed after just a few months.

I played the electronic poker table at the Excal earlier this year. I liked it because it was my first time playing live poker and it was very similar to online poker, which up to that point was all I'd played.
But, since then I've ventured out and have played live poker with a dealer and chips and I prefer it to the electronic version. |
