Alison, did you get four free nights each period, or two free nights each period? I'm a gold card member and I got two Tuscany nights each period, $175 free play each period, and the $25 dining credit good only one time. Thanks for posting your Peppermill offers, I look forward to seeing them every other month or so and comparing them to what I get each time. |

I took it to mean 4 consecutive nights each period, only one of which I can use as I will again be competing against the world (10,000 athletes) in the World Games in Oct. |

congrats Alison! I was pretty stoked because I got another one of those offers like I got back in April, not quite up there with yours but it's 2 free nights in a Tuscan Suite, $50 free play usable during two time periods. Looks like they kept on with that Adventures in Tuscany promo, hopefully getting the free play is not part of it!
When is your next Reno trip? Always a plus when the rooms are comped!

I just double checked it. It specifically says 4 nights to be used only once during each of the free play periods.

hey alison, nope, not gone yet! 7 days and counting 'till I'm at the casino down under LOL
Well, from what I got out of the Adventures in Tuscany thing, they give you a coupon book that looks like a passport book (just what I need right now like a hole in the head after going through all that hell renewing my real one!)
From what I got out of it, there's coupons and free play offers, but in order to redeem them it looked like you had to literally go all around the world and spend alot of money there to get them! For example, get a free dinner at biscotti's but you have to spend $50 to get it. Free admission to the club after spending $45, etc. It seemed like a buy one get one kind of deal but the "buy one" parts seemed really expensive. The one rule I kept seeing was that the WHOLE adventure needed to be completed before you got anything - the get one free parts of the coupons, in addition to the free slot play (I think it was up to $500).
In addition, it seemed that there was a really short time frame to do it all in - I just kept reading that the whole "adventure" needed to be completed before anything could be redeemed - people had to sign and initial the entries not only at the restaurants but at the Passport booth as well, seemed kind of complicated. The expiration on it was only like 3-5 days after my check in date, so that would've made it impossible, high roller, high spender or not!
I bumped into a couple of others that mentioned the coupon book they give you is based on the tower you stay in, so I was thinking that maybe the Peppermill Tower coupons would've been alot better if they exist. I was just looking for the usually buy one get one free Coffee Shop and Island Buffet coupons, but got all that other stuff instead.
At this point, I've been with them for over 5 years and I'm still at purple level LOL so maybe something good will happen sometime.
That's awesome about the Executive Room at Harrahs. I've been noticing that comps for those have also been popping up on my account as well. Only problem is, they only seem to be valid during the week - the rates skyrocket to the $200-300 range on weekends so maybe one of these days I'll get a chance to check it.

Hey good to hear from you! Sorry about the trip,. i replied on your other thread as well.
Yeah it sounds like its a spendy deal. you need to spend $50.00 at Biscotti's for a free meal? Yikes! My friend wantt to stay in the Tuscany Tower, so i hope the offers dont go by what tower your in.
The one thing i have learned with booking on Harrah's site is this. I tend to just log in, and search for teh dates i want. I don't use the offer codes. i ALWAYS seem to have room offers when doing that. Even if i am not showing any for those dates. For example i had booked 3 free nights at harveys. I did this a couple months ago. Was not using an offer code. i just cancelled it though, as the OCtober offers were now in. When i looked up rooms again under the offer codes, Harrahs had a charge. So i did it without the offer code, and it was free. Weird i know. i even called in to customer service adn they could not explain it. Oh well, i dotn care. I got a better room. I saved all my screen shots too, just in case. |

No offer in the mail for me. I really think they have cut me off due to my good luck. I keep having winning trips-- for the last two years. I was there two weeks ago ..... +$400.
My daughter got an offer in the mail today. She puts through 1/20 of the $$ through that I do. She got two free standard room nights. Maybe I will have to tag along with her. ?? |

Hmmm..... How often do you go there Caswede? I think it has something to do with how frequently you visit. If you go there a few times a year, then they know you will visit, therefore dont need to entice you with free play offers. The year that i went down twice, my offers werent as good. Just a thought. May have no truth to it. |

Well..... today my "offer" came in the mail. Two free weekday nights in standard room and $30 in free play. This is a big downgrade from my usual offers. I know why too.
A couple of friends of mine that played (passed tense) at the Pepp. warned me about my play. I believe I have been idenified as a skilled video poker player (proabably true). These friends have been cut off from all offers, and their play gets -0- comps. The fact that my offer came so late indicates to me that someone was looking at my play, and decided to throw me a bone, and hope that if I show up again that I play the way they want me to play.
I made a couple of mistakes on my trip two weeks ago. 1. I won again. 2. I only played high return video poker. I usually take my daughter with me, and I have her play some on my card with those penny slot machines, and that has masked my video poker play. Also, many times I will play some 3 card poker and give them my card to indicate table play too. I did not do this on my last trip. I gave them higher than usual play also on this last trip--- $15k/day, but that obviously was not what they were looking at. |

Wow! that sucks....Especially for someone who puts in alot of play. My friends parents who havent been there in awhile got 3 free nights and $50.00 in free play. I wonder if the VP has something to do with it??? |

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. It is my understanding that most casinos pay less in comps for VP play than for slots. It's simple economics. Their hold on slots per dollar played is so much greater than for VP that they can afford to appear more generous to slot players, because they're still making more from slots in the long run even with the greater comps. The same goes for table games. Your play at something like Let It Ride will be rated higher than blackjack or straight pass/don't pass craps action. |

Remano-
I have always read that slot players get better comps typically then vp players. I know at Harrahs you have to play twice as much vp to earn the same amount as the slot player.
If caswede is putting $15k coin thru a day, you still think it would be better offers then that. That just sucks!
im just glad they sent me what they did.
I wonder what Erin got??? |

I just got back and though I didn't stay at the Peppermill for the main part of my trip I was happy that they comped me some meals. After my trip a year ago, I was under the impression I'd used up all my comps on the room as they did not comp any meals.
I walked up on Friday to get my updated Gold card, since my old one expired and asked for a comp to the coffee shop thinking WTF, why not ask? The guy asked how much...$50 enough? I said no $30 should be good for 2. I was surprised because I thought I'd used up everything after my last trip.
We also each got a coupon book, which had a lot of $10 off if you spend $20 in certain restaurants, but cannot be used in conjuction w/a comp.
We gambled there for about 4 hours and I asked about getting a room for Sat and Sun night, but the chick at VIP check in said they were overbooked by 21 rooms Sat night. I mentioned talking to my host and without even looking at my play, or card, she said there was nothing he could do.
I ended up going back on Monday and getting a $50 comp to Biscotti's for lunch and booking a Tuscan room for the night. They gave me a room on the 1st floor with a patio, which is out in the pool area, though there's a wrought iron fence, so you can't just walk out to the pool.
After staying in the room I wondered what the hell I was thinking staying at Harrahs. There's just no comparison. Well, I do know what I was thinking and it was that my friend get couldn't comped room at the Peppermill as she'd never played there, so I stayed at Harrahs with her.
I got another $20 comp to the coffee shop that night, but never used it because there was an older gentleman and (I think) his grandson sitting next to me at the counter and they secretly picked up my tab. It was so sweet and I didn't even talk to them other than saying hi.
Anyway, the Fall offers I received are $300 for each period and 4 nights in a Florence suite. No food offer though! I also got a bring-a-friend coupon for a tower room S-T $39 or F-S $69. Oh and a $10-$100 match play on any sports bet. |
