Well, it's here - my report. But I don't have much to say.
Another great trip tho, just nothing remarkable.
We had snow flurries most of the way there but nothing big.
On the way back, we had light flurries to S-ville. Then it got beautiful and I asked my wife to drive a bit. She remarked that it was the most beautiful day she had ever seen. Within 60 seconds, it all changed. We had snow, sleet, hail, wind, and rain (offf and on) until we reached I-5.
Am I a great planner, or what? I drove the rest of the way home in beautiful weather.
Good accommodations and service at Sands, Fitz, and Pep.
Another dynamite meal (celebrating our 48th) at Lexies on the River.
Broke about even after a good start. At least we got to play on their money for a few days.
I can't believe that some love the Pep so much. The only good thing about the Pep was having 14 beers with John. When he arrived, he was already 17 behind. What a night. John, did we have a good time?? My memory is a little fuzzy.
The Pep. We played for 14 hours between us. I played most of those hours at $1.25 per hand on video poker. That is a lot of money thru the machines. The slot club told me that I had earned NO COMPS>>>
This is about 5 trips there since Sep 04, all from 1 to 3 days. Each time, we played about 12-16 hours a day. Since Sep, they tell me that I have earned SEVENTY POINTS AND NO COMPS. I would estimate that we have played over 100 hours, most of that at $1.25 per hand steadily, during that time. All that and not even a free meal. This place is cheap. And, what's worse, we have very little success there on VP.
They don't even have a cash back program like most casinos.
I am about to cross them off the list. It is obvious that, even tho they must have a few thousand VP machines, they give no points or comps for playing there. Without question, it is the worst payback that I have encountered anywhere in Nevada.
(Drink service is pretty good tho.)
I usually finish my trips to Reno with a night or two at the Pep because I like their rooms. I am going to change this.
Another complaint. I had WON a free room for one night in the daily card swipe. Well, guess what..... They charged me for ENERGY. How is that free???
Anyway, the trip was great because of the Fitz and Lexies and the company. Think I'll go back in 8 days.
Who is going to be there (besides John) on April 3-4?
Anyone hitting the slot tourney at Siena?
Oh, yeah, while waiting for the elevator at the Fitz: I grew my beard 3 and a quarter inches.
I am glad to have Reno just six hours away from my home.
Just saw where some magazine picked it in top 5 places to live. |
