We were in reno for three days starting April 10th.We drove most of the night and arrived at the Circus just in time for the 8:00 am check-in,or so we thought. It turns out that the 8:00 check-in is only if the rooms are cleaned & available, which is not likely to happen, especially on a Sunday
because the check-out time is 11:00 am and you and we all know that if you are in Reno, you are not real likely to be getting up real early!
We just bounced around in downtown for the first couple of days, playing slots for an hour or two at each place, then headed out to the Peppermill and the Atlantis on the last day.As far as fun places to be and atmosphere,we really liked the Peppermill and the Atlantis much more than the others, with the Silver Legacy coming in behind.
We lost steadily at the slots for the first two days, then won all of our money back at the Peppermill & Atlantis on the last day.I would like to say we came out ahead, but that's o.k. because we had a great time.I really enjoyed Reno more than Vegas, the atmosphere was just so much more laid back, people were friendlier and more helpful, and nobody was flashing porn advertisements in our faces.
I think our next stay will be at the Peppermill, and that we probably won't be heading back to Vegas anytime soon but will be headed for Reno instead. The National auto Museum was certainly worth the eight dollar admission fee, although we kind of felt like intruders as their was a private party having a convention there,so we couldn't go in one room.
All in all,Reno was great and we can't wait to go back!
