The bar in the one picture looks to me like Fitz's old sports bar.
The climbing wall and non-gambling non-smoking atmosphere probably won't appeal to the traditional Reno visitor, but the music, drinking and eating venues look like they would be worth checking out. The restaurants, especially, sound interesting - sort of a casual, reasonably priced option that is a cut above the casino snack bar or food court. People have been saying for a long time that Reno needs something new and can no longer count on gambling as the main draw. Maybe this is it. The way Leal talks in the interview he expects it to attract a number of spin off businesses to the area (Whatever you think about him and the success or failure of his Montage project, you at least have to agree that he sure can talk.) Anyway, it's at least a lot better than a dark, closed up empty building - unless it closes and empties again, that is. |
