One of the many pleasures offered by this board is the ability to read posts going back a ways...

While romping through the various and enjoyable trip reports, one also encounters topics which make you say, "What the *&%^$*!???" - HERE'S an excellent example; just over five years ago, our own BCDave uncovered a vast RSCVA-Wing conspiracy recommending that local hotel room rates be raised, purportedly in the hope that it would help develop Reno's "Image", and subsequently, its greater success.

To read their nincompoopery and then contemplate all the "gains" made in the five years since this brilliant brainstorm first appeared is to shake one's head in wonder, and reach for a beer.

Thanks Stan for reminding us of this grand scale irrationality. I guess the best thing we can say about the RSCVA is that they don't wield political power. If they had been able to regulate their pricey rooms into existence we might be down to one or two hotels by now.
