If you're planning on coming to Reno in July you might be interested in some of the Artown events. The project offers around 500 events during July. Many are of limited interest but others would be attractive to visitors (including a Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon tribute and a concert by Rickie Lee Jones). Some are ticketed and others are free. Here are details:
