I wonder what 2014 will hold as do many. Happy New Year to all my fellow board members and those who visit here. Do take care. |

Let's roll the dice, spin the wheel, and pray for Blackjack in the coming year. It's just gotta be a winning hand this time around.... |

I would like to propose a toast to the year 2014.
~~~~~~~
Here are a few gambling quotes from people a lot smarter than me:
The only sure thing about luck is that it will change.
Bret Harte (1836-1902)
In gambling the many must lose in order that the few may win.
George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950)
A dollar won is twice as sweet as a dollar earned.
Paul Newman (1925-2008), The Color of Money
Gambling is the future on the internet. You can only look at so many dirty pictures.
Simon Noble (1971- )
A problem gambler was urged by a counselor to take the 20-question test for compulsive gambling.
Upon completing it, the subject commented:
“Boys, Gamblers Anonymous must be hard up for new members.
They make qualifying so easy.” |
I don't think I've ever seen so much gambling related wisdom compiled into such a few short lines. Thanks!
Oops! Almost forgot -the toast! - Here's to Reno (may she yet prosper), VisitReno.com, all it's members, 2014, and everything else that's toast-worthy! |
Happy New Year to all!! I drove up Virginia Street this afternoon and things looked pretty lively - lots of groups and families walking around in the warm sunshine. I think the wrestling tournament might still be going on, the D League basketball tournament is about to begin and it's New Years Eve so there's lots of activity.
Best wishes to all. |
Swede, that was a *way* more thoughtful post than my own meager happy-new-year wish...I'll at least glom onto it, by citing another great George Bernard Shaw quote: when asked about the secret to longevity, Shaw said it was "choosing the right grandparents". |
Just had a small glass of "Asti" with Janice. 2 or 3 onces - And I can feel it! 2014 feels alright to me! |
BC Dave didn't mention that a Canadian ounce is equal to one pint US.
Happy new year everybody. Stay out of trouble, and always remember... don't run with scissors, look both ways before crossing, a stich in time saves nine and a bird in the hand is bad table manners. |
Unless it's Charlie, in which case, guests will be delighted.
