...as my wife calls the Eldorado. This time, we had a regular room. Not a large room, but clean and comfortable, except that we could not figure out the thermostat, which stayed on 75. Four lamps was a nice touch. Large HD flat screen. Bed was outstanding, but pillows were too puffy. Fortunate to find a flatter one in a drawer. Desk chairs and love seat lost some cushion. Shower head was adjustable, but spray was too harsh and narrow for my liking. It did have a pulse setting, though. Single sink, with plenty of counter space. I know it costs money, initially, but why can't hotels build in a wall night light in the hallway. We had no choice but to leave on the shower/toilet room light, which uses a lot more energy.
The renovated 24 hour cafe opened while we were there, but we didn't try it. We hit our favorite JoB progressives pretty hard, until someone else hit the Royal. Then we moved to the [same owner]Silver Legacy for most of our play. We highly recommend the Ice Fantasy show. I'm glad it was included in our room package, because, at $25, I would not have purchased it, and therefore not know what I was missing. Marvelously talented performers. A variety of things to suit everyone, worth the cost, and appropriate for all ages.
Other things we did were dinner at Men Wielding Fire, which was quite good. Video Poker paid well at the Peppermill; great dinner at Chi. Special Christmas performance of the Reno Jazz Orchestra was the highlight of our trip. If we move here, which we are planning on in a year or two, this is something we will do regularly(along with the Aces games, of course).
Thanks for reading, and Merry Christmas. |

Good stuff! Eldo certainly does the trick, and it sounds like you did all the right things, even attending performances - for all the ogling I do in the direction of Reno, I've never even heard of the Reno Jazz Orchestra until now.
Sounds like a winner all around; thanks for sharing! |

Didn't take the bus, this time, but the Rapid line will get you there with fewer stops than the Connect line. Only spent 4 hours there, and had not started drinking yet. LOL |

I just discovered your trip report. Thanks for taking time for a report. Good luck on the move to Reno. You will have to adjust your gambling style when you live so close to the casinos. |

Yeah, but no more need for comped rooms. |
