Looks like 3 giant mesas in the extreme far distance. I hadn't noticed those before. |

Yes, Dave they are there. I believe those must be 99 miles away - just under the 100 mile limit. |

Reminds me of the view from Mount Rose. Unlike most of the local ski areas which overlook Lake Tahoe, Mt. Rose's runs face east. The view from the top is a reminder of how mountainous Nevada really is - one range after another for as far as you can see.
Speaking of mountains, as an aside, there was a report on the Today Show this week of an upcoming auction of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia in LA. One of the items was a script for a featurette on the making of her last movie, "The Misfits," shot in Reno. They only showed a quick glimpse of the first page but I saw in the second line Reno was clearly described as a city in the Rocky Mountains. Did Reno move West since then, or did the Rockies move East? |
