I see the Peppermill is starting up a fly/stay program. They start this month and will fly from Portland, San Jose, Fresno and Los Angelus. This might be a good option in winter time to get to Reno.

While I am in an airline service to Reno update mode, I found some additional information.
In December of 2015 there will be direct flights from London, England to Reno. They will have twice a week flights and the idea is to bring skiiers to the area.
I hear skiing in London is not too good. |

TCX827 RNO1430 – 0855+1LGW 330 36
These will be the first scheduled transatlantic flights to RNO. |

Well, I don't think too many of us saw this one coming! Suppose Reno takes off in popularity amongst the Brits.- "5 Quid for an Awful, Awful Fish and Chips Gov?" Or, "Look 'ere lassy, they've got Tellies built into the bloomin' bar with card games on 'em!" |

Your right Dave. Those people from England sure speak English funny.
They might say: I have got to quit mucking around watching rounders on the Telly and go get my rubber out of the hire boot.
Translation: I have got to quit goofing off watching baseball on the television and get my eraser out of the rental car trunk. |

What's even more interesting, by Jove, is that London actually has several casinos, so you wouldn't expect them to set up a direct line to Reno - but it could be like the Macao thing; maybe the British casinos just aren't bloody much fun?? |

Sure, London has casinos but they don't have mountains. The announcements have downplayed gambling and mostly focused on bringing skiers to Tahoe. The flights are only scheduled from December to early April.
RGJ reported that round trip air fair will be around $640. |

That is a good price. |

And now the flights from London to Reno have been cancelled. Thomas Cook says its because U.S. Customs wouldn't increase staff, that the expected staff might take 3 hours to clear all the passengers through. |

Sad PR moves….. |
