The bad news for Reno is the good news for me.
I have received a "conditional short term pardon" and may once again get to briefly visit Reno. Hoping to be there for Sunday night.
If things work out, I'll even watch our beloved moderator "drink his Heinie off". Oops, I meant, "drink the Pep out of their Heinies." There are not enough Heinies around to achieve the first part in a short visit.
I do miss Reno. And I do miss this board. There are good people everywhere but a whole bunch of them visit this board.
So a "shout out" and great big HELLO to all my friends here.
Does anyone want to send along any investment funds for me to run up for them?
I thought I'd post here because all the private messages ( I think I am sending) keep coming back to me. |

Hey there Jerry! How are you and Becky? Fantastic to hear that you're probably heading to Reno. Say Hi to John and his feathered friends from me and Janice. And about that investment scheme of yours - you can play that $500 I loaned you at Shooters. |

Good to see your post. Our best to you and Janice. We are fine.
Looking forward to the trip very much, especially seeing John.
Of course, it would be better if you guys were there as well. BTW, when is your annual Reno trek - in the fall?
I must have drunk too much at Shooters. My memory is going. I was certain that you had advanced me a Grand. Of course, that will all be moot after we split the winnings. (the Devil made me say it). |

Now that you mention it, maybe it was a grand or two..? But what's a few bucks between VisitReno friends? Just blow it all on having a good time at the Fireside's happy "appy" hour! We're not sure when our next trip to Reno will be but, the sooner the better! |

Hey Jerry. I was surprised to see you turn up on Visitreno. I thought maybe you had turned to dust.... glad to hear things are good and you are making a trip to Reno.
I think the last time I saw you was three years ago (?) in Laughlin.
Anyway, have a great time and maybe you can give me a toast on about beer #7....... or order one of the green drinks you were drinking (and drinking) in the Boiler Room. What was that called? |

Finally got to see Jerry yesterday at the P-mill. He still looks as young as he did when we first met about 10 years ago. We had a great time swapping lies and catching up on each other. I introduced him to a bunch of new slots and we won loads of money. Wait...when you leave with less than you got there with, that's winning, right? Had a pretty good sandwich at the deli near the sports bar.
Hopefully, we can meet up before he leaves town. |

Hey, I made it.
Reno--Wow, how I've missed it -- and all my friends on this board. Thanks for the well-wishes.
Met John and had a Great time, as always. His lies are always so Fresh..
we had lots of fun losing money. I felt we played a lot but still I couldn't get any points on my card. I need a high roller to play an evening on my card to save my Gold Card for next year.
I loved the trip though.
The bad: My favorite place in Reno is gone. The Slice of the Peak. Had fantastic pizza and great beer at a reasonable price. Plus good people always.
Got re-established (I hope ) at the Eldo. Trying to get my Gold card back. It has been two years since I visited Reno.
Lost a bit at Grand Sierra and didn't get many points. I used to spend my time in non=smoking but it has been reduced by 2/3. not much there. Used to have a good selection of VP but not any more. They did give me an upgraded room which was quite nice. I finished well out of the money in the slot tourney
Thanks, John , for a great evening. I miss those.
Swede, I surely hope we can meet up again sometime. I do spend the winter near Laughlin. Let me know (next winter) when you are going to be there. I'd love to get together.
I also hope to make a couple trips to Reno (likely alone) during this summer. But time will tell on that. If I get back on their lists, maybe Ill get some room offers. Though, FREE is not free anymore with the so-called, "Resort Fees"...
Gambling sucks big-time wherever you go.
I do miss the grand days of the Siena. It was a great place when it first opened. Then it went steadily downhill. |

Hey, Swede, good to hear from you.
Alas, at my age, the memory dulls a bit. Have no idea - at this time = what the green drinks were. But, I do remember that, whatever they were, I had SEVERAL of them.
Lately, I have been enjoying Fireball whiskey. |

Hearing from you brings back memories of those times when we spent disproportionate amounts of our time and money in our beloved Biggest Little City.
It is sad to see the Siena's casino pass into history. It's a cozy, attractive little casino with great restaurants. You and I met there and along with John went north along Virginia St. where we began the Shooter's saga.
Hope you get your gold status at the Eldorado, and the room offers start pouring in.
Fireball seems, somehow, to be an appropriate drink for you! |

A shot of Paddy APPLE Whiskey adds to the experience. |

Nice work on the trip, Jerry, despite the passive/aggressive behavior of Lady Luck - but what else is new? - and that's the first I've heard of "Apple Whiskey" - is there an app for that?
Good hearing from you! Keep us in the loop.. |

Hey Jerry:
Nice to see you made it.
Notice how there's a lot more craft beers offered now? As I recall, Fat Tire was your favorite....or was it Flat Tire?
The craft beer is slowly making inroads here and there. Nice improvement.
No big (or small) wins?
When I hit the slots with John, it usually means my money is transported directly to his pocket. |

Hey, JD, this is all appropriate since we first met at the Siena. How time changes things.
Good to hear from you.
good memory on the beer. I no longer even like Fat Tire. Had one with John and didn't even finish it. Still not much craft beer on casino floors though.
I have chased micro brews all over Oregon.
I prefer malts over hops. I much prefer high alcohol content, like over 8 ABV.
My current favorite beers are Belgian Abbey Ales.
I look forward to your next trip report. They are always a joy to read. |

JD: I was searching for the "word" earlier.
Wanted to say that I, and likely others, live "vicariously" in Reno/ Va City when you post your TRs.
Secondly, to best of my knowledge, the Grand Sierra did NOT charge me the resort fee when they comped my room. Zero bill.
OTOH, the Pep does soak me about 20 bucks a day for a FREE room. |
