I know the Rib Cook Off is happening in Sparks. Need suggestions on how to enjoy Reno to the fullest. Where would you play ( wife plays slots, I enjoy sports betting and the ponies. Staying at Eldorado simply because you have stated that the El D is great on comps. Did the research on great eateries outside of the casinos but would like more suggestions. Where would you play slots? But wherever it is, there must be a race book for me to play ponies. SUGGESTIONS? : |

OK, this may not be gourmet advice, but if you come to Reno, you've got to have an Awful Awful. They're available at the little Nugget just a few short steps south of the Eldo on Virginia Street. I can't give sports betting advice, but you might want to check out the Cal Neva's retro sports book. In fact everything's kind of retro at the Cal Neva. Most of us love the place. Video poker at any of the bars will ensure rapid free drink delivery. Check around though - some of the bars may or may not have full pay video poker. The Cal Neva's one block south of the Eldorado on the other side of the road. Oh, if you like really good Italian food, La Strada in the Eldorado is very good. |

Thanks BC,
I have heard of Awful and will give it a try. And I do remember the Cal Neva sports/race book when all the track entries were written on the wall in back of the tellers. Probably the 80's. Also the large hot dogs and a Heineken beer for just a dollar. Remember? And when you would need a "drink" ticket to get free drinks. Those were the days. |

24. Best deal in Reno. The Eldo, also has the Brews Bros. upstairs
that has great food and live entertainment. |

How do you get that $2 24 hour pass for those of us over 50 from out of state? |

I just go in the 4th street terminal and use the Koist machine, punch the senior button and the 24 hr button and put in 2$ Or you can tell the driver
you want the senior 24 hr, if your young looking they may ask for
id. . and I'm not sure on the price on the bus. They have 2 different
type buses Rapid the double bus or connect. Rapid only stops at the most popular stops, casinos, malls ect. the connect just stops at all the stops on the route. and connects with other routes you may want to go to.
You can get a map at the terminal or on the bus if you want to see where
they all go. Happy bussing. |

I wonder if you can bring on a standard size 20 inch carry-on using the Rapid bus that goes between downtown and PM/ATL? |

Shouldn't be any problem, I see everything under the sun on it. |
