|
|
Heading down to Reno for March Madness and we can't wait. I am wondering if by now all of the black jack table are all 6-5 black jack pay outs? If so where are they? Last year it was sure hard to find the normal pay out tables.
Also wondering where the best place to play video poker is? Every year I go to Reno I plan on playing video poker but don't manage to do it. I think this is the year but not sure where is best to play.
Thanks you guys! |

I haven't done a recent survey but my overall impression is that most of the ripoff 6:5 games are found at Eldorado and Silver Legacy. I think most of the other casinos still deal a traditional 3:2 game, or a mixture of both so you just have to shop around.
I recall a while back seeing a 6:5 table at the CalNeva (unusual because they usually offer pretty good games), which was full of clueless players giving away their money while the very next table offered 3:2 payoff and had open seats available. I guess you can't blame the casinos for trying to take players' money faster if the players are dumb enough to let them get away with it. Every blackjack pundit around will tell you to avoid the 6:5 game because it increases the house advantage so sharply, yet players still flock to those tables.
I did recently visit the Peppermill and they had all 3:2 tables, minimums as low as $5, mostly single deck (double 10 or 11 only) and double deck (double any first two cards) as well as some shoe games. As you know, table mins can change with day of week, time of day, special events etc.
Reno is way better than LV when it comes to gaming conditions. We visited the Strip a month or so ago, and could not find a table for under $10 min, and those were all 6:5 blackjack payoffs and continuous shuffler or 6 and even 8 deck shoes. Not worth it in my opinion.
Hope you have a good trip. What you want is out there, just shop around. |

Thanks Remano, I'm not a BJ Player but from all my trips to the locals
casinos I think the locals have better pays than the big ones. I use the
bus to get to them, which is a plus. 2$ for 24 hrs. of trips. Each one has
a different Food opt. We have to spread it a round! Meet a lot of interesting folks at the. |

Thank you so much Remano! I completely agree it is tough to figure out why they would do that but can't blame the Casino if people are crazy enough to make the choice. We are staying at the Eldorado but love to gamble at Silver Legacy. I am stubborn enough I will just hoof it over to Cal Neva and play there. Fun atmosphere.
Anyone have Video Poker advice I could use some.
Thanks again Remano you are a great help as always!
Cannot wait to spend some time in one of my favorite places! |
