Well im headed back in July. Booked 4 nights at Harrah's Tahoe. Nights are comped even though i have not been there in 3 years. Resort is $25 a night and looks like they are waiving parking fees right now. Only room available was a Value room. Im a little nervous as to what that is. If anyone has been there and stayed in one, let me know. |

Hi Alison. Many moons ago my wife and I won a two night stay at Harrah's Tahoe. We stayed there in January 2001. Our room was really nice but in a slightly dated sort of way. I don't think it was a value room, so I can't report on those, but I think Harrah's Tahoe is regarded as kinda swanky (or at least it was) and your room should be pretty decent. Probably won't quite measure up to a Tuscany tower room though. Will you be visiting your castle while you're down there? |

We Love Harrahs Tahoe, the rooms have 2 bathrooms, and we always
have Breakfast at the Driftwood down the street, and lunch at the
Lucky Beaver next door to Harrahs. |

I think the rooms at Harrah's have two bathrooms. I think Harveys will be open by then (with newly renovated rooms) and there's an underground tunnel that will take you there. Hell's Kitchen is probably going to be open if you want to splurge.
If you become a diamond player, the lounge is one of the best, definitely the best of any Caesars property I have visited. Full salad and soup bar every day from 4-6 (most lounges serve only chips and dip), and they usually have chicken or shrimp as part of that salad bar. Unfortunately I doubt that salad bar is available now.
I don't think the food in Tahoe is great, but +1 on the Driftwood Cafe and Lucky Beaver. Base Camp Pizza is in Heavenly Village and is within walking distance. I like My Thai as well and Jaliscos Mexican food (good and cheap).
Lots of craft beer there, too. Aleworx (next to Lucky Beaver) has pour-your-own craft beer. The Hangar has a wide assortment of beer (although I've never been). Cold Water has very good food and good beer. Best beer, in my opinion, is South Lake Brewing.
If you need a hike, I recommend the Van Sickle hike which is walking distance from Harrah's. Not very populated, not very difficult, and many areas have wide trails.
I usually go to Tahoe a few times per year (especially during the summer), but not for the rest of this year, and that is a big time bummer! Good luck and stay safe! |

Just cancelled my room for Hot August Nights. HAN is cancelled and at this time I'm not ready for the casino's. I certainly wish I could be there, but I'm playing it safe unlike my gambling. |

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I have been to Tahoe a few times and have stayed at Harvey's and Harrah's. Just wasn't sure about the whole value room.
Alot of the restraunts are closed and no room service which is a bummer. Oh well. Still will be nice to get away. Im going to visit my boyfriend and he lives in Redding Ca. Its too damn hot there so wanted to go somewhere a bit cooler as it was 109 the other day. |
