I hope it doesn't take as much coin in for a point as it does at Ascuaga's Nugget.
" John, I need one point to keep my card active. Problem is, it takes $ 4,000 coin in to get one point."

So Alison, no activity on the card in 6 months? You sure don't want to let that Diamond status expire now do we? Or is it 7-star?
One point in 6 months might screw up all those great offers you have been getting. |

Jhn,
Thank you! Make sure Jerry buys you a beer from me next time you see him.
Thankfully you can earn a point pretty quick. i just hope he does not loose in the process. I probably should send you some $$$$
And no i am not diamond or platinum at Harrahs. I barely play there. I do have some points stored up that i dont want to loose though. They seem to keep sending me great offers though for barely playing there. I typed in the dates i wanted to stay this upcoming Feb at Harrahs Tahoe, and it came up free for 3 nights in an Executive Suite. Go figure |

Alison: You know that is very, very interesting. My sister in-law plays a bunch of VP and always hits Harrahs. Dang she always seems to be getting all kinds of free offers, and has even been invited on the Harrahs Yacht at Tahoe. Heck, I'm a pretty serious Craps player and have shoved a bunch of money across the tables at Harrahs, and I think the only thing they ever sent me was a Poster of a damn slot machine. Go Figure........... |

Yeah i hardly play at harrahs anymore. I always am at the Pep. I was quite shocked to find a suite for free for 3 nights. I dont think i played at Harrahs at all this past year.
I think alot of it has to due with the fact that i play slots vs tables. |

The deal is done, Alison. I put about 3,000 points or less on your card. I'm thinking less. A lot less.

Alison, congrats on getting more points and that's good you got a hookup like that from somewhere you hardly every play at. I think on my upcoming trip I'm going to drop them a 20 or so and see if I can start at least getting offers again. They were always good for at least 2 nights, even with no play! I'm hoping to establish getting mailers from the Peppermill again too. Bad news, I got bumped outta my Imperial Suite, but only down to a regular spa suite. Some big convention with wealthy people going on or something, they said. People may be paying to get their way.
So, do you all think it makes a difference if you play slots vs. tables, or does it depend on the casino? |

While each promotion can be different, I think the general rule is that comps vary with the game you play. Casinos base comps on the amount of money they expect to make from your play, which takes into account the house advantage on the game you choose, your average bet and the number of bets you make (length of play). Since the house advantage on slots is greater than most table game bets, the comps add up faster for slot players. |

FG, that convention is Safari Club International, and the members have more money than JD, even (well...some of them do). They're here every year, right around Super Bowl Weekend and do some heavy duty spending. The hotels love 'em. |

If anyone is interested you can sign up for Harrah's Total Reward Credit Card and as long as you use the card or gamble at Harrah's (either one) at least once every six months you will not lose your points. You can sign up at the Harrah's web site. The card offers no annual fee and no interest if paid in full each month. You can redeem meals and such or merchandise. We will soon have enough points to get a dual handset cordless phone. We accumulate far more points using the card then we do gambling at Harrah's. I figure if we are going to use credit cards find one that cost you nothing and give you back something. Others I like are Cabela's (points are good toward their merchandise only, great for outdoor enthuisatist) and Discover card (actual cash back) Anyway enough on that and remember in NEVADA THEIR AIN'T NO LAST CALL FOR ALCOHOL.
Best of luck to all,
