Our orientations are strange sometimes. I haven't seen my mail for a couple weeks but a friend back home was telling me on phone what I had to be sent on.
He mentioned an offer from club legacy. I kept racking my brain as to what place that could be. finally I related it to the eldorado. then I realized that was not correct when he mentioned an offer from the eldorado.
finally, I realized that reno had a silver legacy casino. I rarely go in there but last trip I played a few hands of vP there. voila, some kind of mailing but I have no idea of what. we shall see tomorrow, I guess.
this is one strange computer: the caps keys don't work very often. sorry.... |

well, I got my mail. The offer was a fantastic one: only $39 per nite for a weeknight room.
That is precisely $39 more per nite than my other offers. I wonder why I have never stayed at the Legacy????
Funny thing is that, for the time I played there, I was playing VP at $25 per hand. AND, I was never even offered a drink.
Re-scratch the Legacy off my list of "things to do". |

Well, since no one will come to the Legacy's defense, I will give you a perspective that may reveal some value to the place.
For the extreme tightwad among us, the Silver Legacy is a good value; here's why:
1 - Perfect location, epicenter of the downtown. Heck no, I wouldn't play there either, but it's just the right walking distance to the Fitz and the Cal-Neva.
2 - Having the other two hotels attached gives you more to wander around and look at, as well as more dining options and such.
3 - Terrific views; Legacy has the height, and I always ask for a room up as high as I can get without having to pay more.
4 - Rooms are rooms. I don't get points, comps, suites, or any of that other stuff, 'cuz my bankroll is too tight. So for $39, I'd rather have a generic room in the center of the action with a great view.
5 - Check-in line experiences can vary, and I certainly have had to wait as long as fifteen minutes, but I consider that to be not too terrible.
For a cheapskate like me, this is value, and I like being able to make the rounds of all the wacky casinos the downtown has to offer - then again, I'm one of those weirdos who actually *likes* the downtown!
Besides, if you go to the Pep, you run the very real risk of running into this crazy guy who might have birds on his shoulder...
So that's my case, and I'm sticking with it - but I can quite understand how the Legacy might have no such appeal for those who actually get offers and such. |

I just think there are better rooms for your buck. Eldorado and Circus Circus are better IMO. There definetely are advantages to staying downtown. It is nice to be in such close proximity to everything. I do enjoy that and miss that too. Thats the only bummer thing about staying at the Pep |

I should have offered the disclaimer that I've never actually *stayed* at the Circus, though I have at the Eldo - and at each of those visits, I had totally different experiences - one night was in a pretty decent room, but the other time, the room was box-tiny!
I also believe that the Legacy has the fastest elevators in town; I've never had to wait or endure crowds.
Hey, my subject line could be a cool advertising slogan: "Get a leg up at the 'Leg!"
And I *still* don't have a job in advertising - what's wrong with this world?! |

yeah the Eldo does have some older rooms that are small. You need to get the Deluxe room i believe. Dont quote me on that though.
The room we had at the Circus Circus was in pretty good shape. We were in the far tower that requies the tram. Unless you want to walk which we did. We found walking to be faster. |
