New ownership, nice job so far on cleaning up the facility, some new management, new good blackjack rules, but awful deck penetration -- now constant shuffling. The worst in Reno, relegating the laughable Circus Circus blackjack game to second-worst. It appears that four rounds heads-up and only three rounds to two hands is now standard. It's been unchanged for a few weeks, and a friend in the know says its likely to stay for awhile. You might find slightly better under some circumstances, but not often. Automatic shuffling machines are in place, so the hands per hour lost by the ridiculous shuffling are not as great as when the dealer hand-shuffled. It is still a waste of time and less profit for the house. The lost profit has been somewhat mitigated, but likely still greater loss than the money that brain-using patrons could win on a decently-dealt game.
Management stupidity rears its ugly head again. Apparently management would rather make less money overall than risk a few people actually winning. Bill Zender would probably get a good laugh at the clowns now running the place.
RIP, Fitzgeralds.
