Ok, one last question before I leave tomorrow...
Are there any drugstores (Wallgreens, Rite Aid, etc.) on the downtown Virginia Street strip? You know...places I can get bottles of water, travel toiletry items, etc. for cheap and not the high cost of a hotel's "convenience shops."
Thanks.

alison has told you the best (for now only) downtown option. It's built on the freeway overpass, with N. Virginia on the west and Center St. on the east. Not a long walk but there's also ample parking.
This doesn't really help you, but there was supposed to be a Long's Drugs at N. Sierra and 2nd St. which has been ready to go for at least a year now but has never opened because the city won't license them for 15 slot machines. Bummer, because downtown could use the competition. |

That is helpful, remano. I had Google-mapped that Wallgreens after Alison's suggestion and saw a Rite Aid listed right by Harrah's.
This must be the one you say has yet to open. Bummer - cause that would have been quite convenient. |

Hi everyone, I'm not for certain, but I think there may be or may have been a CVS in that shopping center across the street and a few blocks down (going towards the airport and Plumb, whereas the Walgreens is the other way)? I seem to remember that, a Motel 6, and a Shepler's Western Wear store all in the same vincinity. Not for sure though.

MG,
You are correct. The area is called Shopper's Square. It's about half way between downtown and the Peppermill but the original inquiry was for something downtown. This would be convenient, though, for someone on their way to or from the airport, or staying at the Peppermill. Also for those at Peppermill or Atlantis, there is a Walgreen's between the two on the northwest corner of S. Virginia at Moana Lane.
